“The T-shirt you made will connect Africa and Japan.”
9/23 (Fri)-9/25 (Sun) Participatory event at GOOD LIFE fair
A participatory event will be held at the GOOD LIFE fair (sponsored by Asahi Shimbun) from September 23rd (Friday) to September 25th (Sunday).
The GOOD LIFE Fair is a participatory event where you can meet familiar options that lead to a “comfortable and rich life = GOOD LIFE” through various things, times, and things.
This event will focus on "Pocket T-SHIRTS" using African fabric for the breast pocket of the fashion brand "CLOUDY" (DOYA Co., Ltd.) operated by himself. We have prepared a plan for visitors to create their own original T-shirts by freely combining their favorite pocket patterns and alphabet patches. Both adult/kids sizes are available.
Sewing at the event venue will be done by students of ESMOD Japon, the world's first fashion higher education institution established in Paris in 1841.
ESMOD JAPON uses the ESMOD curriculum that has been cultivated in its long history as a universal base, and provides education that fuses the culture and know-how of each country and school. methods are also shared. Furthermore, in order to realize a sustainable society through fashion, we have incorporated sustainable education and are cultivating talented people who will lead the next generation as designers and pattern makers who can create sustainable and responsible creations.
So far, we have been working with everyone at ESMOD JAPON to explore the possibilities of new fashion, such as our representative Douya serving as a judge at the graduation screening committee and as a lecturer at the sustainable seminar.
This is the first time that we have collaborated with ESMOD Japon, who has been sympathizing with our company's activities on a daily basis. Together we will create an action for Africa through fashion.
What is "Pocket T-SHIRTS"?
“Consider product planning according to the abilities of local workers in Ghana”
This is one of the things we cherish.
Many workers in Ghana's factories have never learned about centimeters or addition, and some of them are new to education itself. "Pocket T-SHIRTS" was born as a result of thinking about a way to pay wages even at the training stage.
The pocket part is sewn locally in Ghana, and has been a standard product since the company was founded.
This is an opportunity to create collaborative works between customers, ESMOD Japon students, and Ghanaian workers. We hope that you will find your favorite combination and participate in the action.
