From October 16th (Saturday), the products planned by the students of Ochanomizu University High School and produced at our own factory in Ghana will be on sale at the Shibuya Miyashita Park store!
Ochanomizu University High Schoolis one of the "ethical education" that has been worked on in home economics classes since 2011, and the collaboration with CLOUDY has been realized.
In this initiative, a special class by representative Douya and product planning of CLOUDY are held in the class.
First, in class, students planned products using African fabrics and produced sample products. Two works selected from 120 works will be commercialized at CLOUDY's own factory in Ghana and sold to customers.
The representative works of this third year are a 2-way pot holder that can also be used as a pot stand, and a convenient drawstring shoulder bag that comes in two sizes.
Original tags made by students and attached with leftover African fabrics, leaflets and other product accessories are full of thought.
Products designed by students are produced at CLOUDY's own factory in Ghana.
Rather than just making what they want to make, the students learned about Africa and Ghana, and while being conscious of the production background of Africa, what they can do, how they can give back to local activities, I'm going to work on thinking about it.
This project has created 45 jobs for local factories in Ghana.
This project allows you to think about society and the future while experiencing the flow of planning, production, sales, and apparel brands. I hope that this activity will give the students an opportunity to feel closer to ethical life and Africa, and to think about taking action themselves.
Items created by high school students and Ghanaian workers.
